The Munch Legacy 5.4

Generation Six are all teenagers and this is the part where I normally focus on getting those skills maxed and completing aspirations if possible. We’re throwing that out the window this turn and I’m aiming for those 50 Gold Dates I keep talking about.

Now if I actually even have 50 dates this part that is an achievement in itself because the teen to YA part is normally relatively short. I’ve pulled that number from The Sims 2, haven’t I? I’m just hoping for A LOT to get to the next point for the event medals. I am wholly focused on getting as many points as possible. More likely I’ll get about 10 but, here’s to the plans.

Vanessa and Rohan Dates: Gold x5, Bronze x1

As always I didn’t get a lot of screenshots, but other things that occurred:
– Rohan maxed Charisma
– Vanessa completed her Fabulously Wealthy aspiration (moving swiftly on to Friend of the World)

As a teenager Desmond dated childhood friend Ayaka: Gold x1

But he was so close to his YA birthday we didn’t get very far with his dating medals. We did celebrate his birthday in style before he moved out.

Yes Desmond moved out (despite being an absolute cutie) because I want Bernadette to be the next heir – she has the Gardening aspiration which is one of the few I am yet to complete and I feel like a female heir is more advantageous for making 10 kids – last time we failed because Rudyard died of old age but his wife Violet lived on for a long time afterwards.

Bernadette started dating Advik as a teen: Gold dates x2

Advik then grew up to a young adult so Bernadette’s dating game was cut short.

Bernadette celebrated her birthday to YA: Silver medal and things were back ON with Advik.

Advik moved in and will be the Generation Six spouse (once we get around to marrying this lovely pair up) his traits are Goofball, Romantic and Materialistic and his aspiration is Big Happy Family – be careful what you wish for mate, we’re hoping that will happen.

Also, Bernadette started her career as a Scientist and Advik moved in with the Critic career. I went a little crazy with everyone’s careers so changed Advik’s career to Culinary. With Vanessa in Social Media, Rohan in Politics and Bernadette in Science it was a lot of intense, hands on careers to micromanage.

Theodore reached the top of his teen career as a manual labourer, securing his a position as Backhoe Operator. Desmond had this job as a teen, but he was obviously unsuccessful.

Theodore also dated Edgar: Gold x3 and they are the cutest. I wish my game was proactive with the families I don’t play because I would love to see these married with a family of their own.

With a lot of hard work from Vanessa, we completed the postcard collection! This is out fourth collection complete (we left frogs, snow globes and I want to say elements in the time of the Pre-Glitch) and we are one poster away from completing another collection.

Finally, Theodore celebrated his birthday to YA: Gold medal. He swiftly moved out.

Which was a good thing, because Generation 7 is close to making an appearance! We are not wasting any time, I’m more determined than ever to get those 10 kids.

I want to mention here that the household they live in and their cash on hand comes to a whopping: $287,093! When add this to the $488K of the pre-glitch money it makes just over $775K!

We also didn’t get those 50 dates, but 12 with some birthday medals is more than normal.

The Munch Legacy 5.3

A lot happened last time, but to quickly recap we are left in the house with Generation Five’s Vanessa and Rohan Munch who just had three children: Desmond, Bernadette and baby Theodore who make up Generation Six! Also in the house is Fable, Sebastian’s alien abduction child and Vanessa’s brother.

This is that chapter where we age up the kids meaning a lot of time has passed in the game and a lot of things happened. It’s easier for me to list what each individual sim achieved rather than the order everyone achieved everything in.

Narrative is, as you guessed it, out the window.

To start off with, our lovely little cursed lot had a big fire and a lot of broken objects. I didn’t capture the fire (just the scared and snivelling Rohan outside with his babies) but it consumed A LOT of their tiny kitchen.

Fable, our beloved purple alien sim, reached the top of his teen Babysitter career becoming a Daycare Assistant!

Fable maxed Fitness and completed his Bodybuilder aspiration and moved out on his young adult birthday. He still visits often as he has a very high relationship with Rohan and the kids especially (considering he did most of the care giving)

So from left to right: Desmond, Bernadette and Theodore! I was shocked to see some blonde hair, but then again, looking back over the family tree we’ve had a lot of blonde heirs (pun intended?)

Bernadette mastered Movement skill and Potty as a toddler while Theodore maxed Imagination.

As children, Desmond maxed Creativity and completed his Artistic Prodigy aspiration and Bernadette maxed the Social skill – she was so close to completing her aspiration too but couldn’t make any children friends as there are literally none in the neighbourhood!

Theodore reached Mental level 10 and completed his Whiz Kid aspiration. Then he maxed the Social skill and again, almost completed the social aspiration – he just didn’t make enough friends in time.

Rohan maxed the Logic and completed his Nerd Brain aspiration. After this he switched to Successful Lineage and has been quietly rising up the ranks in his political career.

Rohan had a birthday to Adult (we completely missed his party! The others have had a lot of parties, but we’ll get to those medals soon) and he maxed the DJ mixing skill!

I once again flirted with the idea of having Vanessa and Roahn go on a string of mega dates but I’ve had them so focused on their careers and collecting (postcards and posters are so close to completion) that we only managed one.

However, the birthday parties were a little bit better for bringing in the points:

Birthdays: Gold x1,  Silver x5, Bronze x1

Now let’s focus in on the LEGEND that is Vanessa. First, she went and maxed the Cooking skill.

Then Vanessa completed her Bestselling Author aspiration and moved on to Fabulously Wealthy (where she ended up in the last tier, just $30,000 or so from completing that aspiration as well)

Vanessa also maxed Gourmet Cooking and reached level 10 of the Food Critic career! Securing herself a job as the Curator of the Finest Flavours just before her adult birthday! That’s the quickest any sim has topped a career and I am so proud of her. She quit her job as a Food Critic and took up a new position in the Social Media career.

With all three potential heirs as teens it is time to end this mammoth part. Theodore, Bernadette and  Desmond (in reverse age order) all have so much potential and are loads of fun to play at the minute. We shall announce who will be the Generation Six heir next time!

Whoever is the heir, I plan to make another attempt at 10 kids for Generation Seven so we need someone who can handle that challenge.

The Munch Legacy 5.2

Another chapter of The Munch Legacy! SimNaWriMo is actually inspiring me to play and get more chapters out! Previously Vanessa Munch, our Generation 5 heir married Rohan (after glitching real bad, or maybe it was cold feet?)

Above, the happy couple Vanessa and Rohan went on a date (Gold x1) and my plan this part was to make them go on at least 20 dates to boost my medal points but I got distracted with their aspirations and jobs.

Vanessa and Rohan drank a YA potion as they were nearing their Adult birthdays.

Her father, Sebastian Munch was impregnated by aliens in the last part, and shortly after his wife Yadira died welcomed Fable Munch into the world. Fable is now a toddler and a potential threat to Vanessa’s legacy.

Sebastian was promoted to the top of the Smuggler Astronaut career! He may be one of the youngest sims to top his career, the majority of my sims do it in their final days as an elder.

Fable mastered Movement, Potty and Imagination skills as  a toddler before celebrating his birthday to childhood.

As a child Fable completed the Rambunctious Scamp aspiration and maxed the Motor skill. He then went on the max Creativity and complete the Artistic Prodigy aspiration.

Despite being super talented with a knack for getting us legacy points, I’ve decided I want Vanessa to be heir. Yes I got have prolonged the battle and made a whole thing  of it but Vanessa is happily married and ready to go in terms of kids PLUS she is really fun to play.

Sebastian celebrated his birthday to Elderhood and soon after maxed the Comedy skill. He doesn’t retire from the top of his career, instead he uses up all of his vacation days to keep bringing in good money.

With Vanessa’s heirship certified it wasn’t long until we were expecting Generation Six! She had a son, Desmond Munch. (Named after my cat to mark the momentous achievement of reaching Gen 6)

Life ran smoothly. Birthdays were had (how cute is Des! I am excited for red hair babies, this generation is going to be cute as heck) and Vanessa soon had a second child, a daughter Bernadette Munch.

During her pregnancies Vanessa worked on and maxed the Writing skill.

Sebastian died on the night of Fable’s birthday. I had him working on some skills but to be fair Sebastian brought a lot to this legacy and was a truly successful heir. He didn’t get enough friends for his Friend of the World aspiration but I think he was at a disadvantage leaching all of his friends behind in the previous save.

Despite the death, the birthday party was successful.

The only birth Sebastian missed was his third and final grandchild: Theodore Munch. This generation will keep it small to focus on skills, careers and more legacy things. There is a very short age gap between the kids (that just seems to be my style) so expect a lot of birthdays next part.

Note: Desmond reached Imagination Level 5.

As soon as Sebastian reached Level 8 of Painting he made portraits for Vanessa and Rohan (he died level 9 of the skill) and you’ll see that we have 9 Young Again potions making 80 in total!

Not a lot of narrative, I know. They’re kind of a perfect family at the minute which means no drama – not even aliens can ruin this household.

The Munch Legacy 5.1

Welcome back to my Munch legacy! Sorry not sorry for everything – I know I started this whole thing with the intention to feed stories into my sims lives but that sometimes goes out the window when I focus heavy on skills and jobs. With the start of a new generation (Generation 5, baby! That’s like halfway!) I do hope to get a little bit more narrative and will definitely pick up on previous plot lines. I’m planning to, anyway.

Vanessa was the heir to the entire Munch legacy. There was a lot riding on her and there was no way out. But Vanessa wasn’t scared of the intensity, she had a plan. 

This is honestly so good, it feels like a whole new legacy challenge, a nice fresh start. Vanessa is our Generation 5 heir! She got a job as a Critic and her aspiration is the Serial Romantic, so I figure we’ll be spending a lot of her Young Adult life on dating and completing that before she marries up.

For the record this is the house they currently live in. It’s very much a work in progress. Vanessa lives with her parents Yadira (elder) and Sebastian (Adult) – both Level 8 in their careers. With the time and money we have available we are going to focus on making this a nice set up before any Generation 6 arrives.

Vanessa took every opportunity to get out in the world to meet people. 

Now is the time to note that the family had some parties:
House Party: Bronze x2
Dinner Party: Gold x1

And meeting a lot of people meant a lot of dates and a lot of girl and boyfriends. 

Vanessa completed her serial romantic aspiration and changed to Bestselling Author so she can focus on her career as a Critic. She did actually have a lot of successful dates and the medals: Gold x6, Silver x1, Bronze x1

“Again?” Sebastian was taken once again. Again he heard far off voices questioning how he was made up, Sebastian – watered down alien genes. The perfect vessel for an alien baby.

So Sebastian got abducted and I honestly didn’t realise he was pregnant until I caught a glance at a belly (and after he reached Fitness Level 10) I was like – why is he fat? Then the numbers began to add up

Sebastian’s pregnancy was a shock to the whole family. A new Gen 5 Munch baby – but what to do? An heir had already been chosen but this baby was as worthy to the heirship as much as Vanessa. 

Yadira died before the birth of the baby, not completing her aspiration and Level 9 of her career. And Grim was not having any of Sebastian’s deals.

And soon, Fable was born into the family. Look at how distressed he looks.

Fable grew and the bond between Sebastian and his son was intense. Stronger than any of his other children. Maybe it was the fact that he carried Fable, or it had been so long since there was a baby in the house and he had actually missed it. 

Vanessa was troubled. Was her time as heir over before it had begun?

Now that Vanessa had had her fun, she thought it was time to settle down. With a husband she would prove her fealty to the legacy. But things didn’t go well. 

Soon after proposing to Zaiden Jolly they threw the worst wedding party. Vanessa glitched and couldn’t marry him. It said he was her employee and she should dismiss him (despite that not being true)

Their relationship was short. It was looking like Vanessa might not be able to physically marry anyone meaning the time honoured marriage between heir and spouse would be out the window.

She tried again with one of her other lovers, Rohan Marquez. She glitched again so asked him to move in. I figure a live in fiancee would work for now. But Rohan finally asked Vanessa to marry him and they became Mr and Mrs Munch.

Rohan has the Nerd Brain aspiration and his three unique traits are Gloomy, Loves the Outdoors and Ambitious. I got him to join the Political career.

That’s all for this part! Next time Vanessa and Rohan may have kids, but how will Fable change things?

The Munch Legacy 4.4

The new house had monsters. The new house had no space. The new house was cursed. 

Picking up from where we left off, the Munch family has moved into a new home! It’s way too small for them and yes, there were monsters under the bed and it is very much cursed. But curses are better than glitches.

When the kids tried to learn, things went wrong. When the kids tried to go about their daily business, they were interrupted. The title of heir was no longer desirable because attached to it was this house and all of their problems too. 

I’m not going to lie, this was such a weird chapter to play as I was tying to get back into playing and it felt like the difficulty had been knocked up (such a big family, such a small house) so do bear with me on this part. It will probably be a lot more summary than events.

But time marched forward. First they celebrated birthdays to teens, then before everyone knew it, it was time for those teens to become adults. 

There were a lot of parties, thanks to Yadira’s Party Animal aspiration. She hosted the following:

Dinner Party: Silver x2
Birthday party: Gold x2, Silver x4

Although the house was cramped and she probably should have moved out as soon as possible, like she wanted to, Ramona spent the first chunk of her young adult life at their home, skilling and waiting for her younger brother’s birthday.

Ramona’s aspiration is City Native (which I don’t think you can actually complete in a legacy?) but I’d had her working on the singing skill since she was a teen. She did reach Singing level 10, maxing the skill while she waited.

Kendrick became a Young Adult and felt relief. He knew the heirship would never pass to him. He’d accomplished a lot as a child, but the mounting pressure to continue his brilliance was too much. Kendrick didn’t want to work at life, this legacy was just that – work! Kendrick wanted out. 

Kendrick maxed Mental skill and completed the Whiz Kid aspiration as a child. Then he became a Food Service Cashier, topping his teen Fast Food career. He also maxed the Dancing skill

Together, Ramona and Kendrick moved out. 

We were finally able to breathe a little. However, since I’ve been stretched between getting all the teens to accomplish stuff, not all of them were able to do everything I had wanted.

Yadira aged to an elder but we forgot her birthday. I felt super bad. She has been getting things done though; she maxed Fitness, Cooking and Dancing.

Following in her fathers ways (or at least before he was married) Vanessa spent her teen years scoring kisses and dates. 

Vanessa goes on date with Elsa Bjergsen and asks her to be her girlfriend. Vanessa has the serial romantic aspiration. Their date resulted in a gold medal and then the next day they had a silver medal date.

Before her teen years though, Vanessa maxed Creativity skill and completed Artistic Prodigy. She also maxed the Dance skill

Classic middle child, Penelope was completely overlooked for a lot of her life. With such a short age difference between her and the twins she had spent her life almost invisible. She knew she’d never be the Munch heir, but she was fine with this. 

Penelope maxed Creativity skill and completed Artistic Prodigy as a child. Then she focused her teen years on topping her teen career in Retail and was promoted to Customer Support.

Penelope maxed Dance too (they didn’t have a lot of things for Fun at the start, a stereo was all they could afford)

At long last it was time for the twins birthday! Vanessa and Loretta grew to Young Adults marking the end of Generation 4.

Penelope and Loretta moved in with Ramona and Kendrick.

Loretta maxed Dance. She did spend a lot of time focused on Painting and for a long time I thought she might be the heir but I enjoyed playing Vanessa more.

The house didn’t feel empty, it felt cosy. Yadira and Sebastian were left with Vanessa, their other children had moved out to make it on their own. Vanessa was heir and it was up to her to put this legacy back on track. 

Now is as good a time as any to mention Sebastian: Sebastian took a Young Again potion
Sebastian maxed Cooking skill.

I’m also putting a hell of a lot of pressure on Vanessa here. I hope she can handle it.

This is the start of the Young Again potions. We left 71 in the other house so are only in need of another 9 so once these shelves are filled we will be done with YA potions. We have 2 so far making 73.

This is also where portraits will go (for now anyway, we may need more space) and I haven’t bothered redoing Yadira or Sebastian’s as we had those in the previous house and I don’t think it’s fair if my game crashes due to no fault of mine that I should suffer.

(Like I said, weird part as this was where I took that 5 monthish break but The Munch Legacy is back in my life now)

The Munch Legacy 4.3

I’m returning to this after a short break (I think I last played in April and it’s now September) but after attempting to start something new and it frustrating me and finding these old drafts of my Munch progress I thought I’d give these guys another go!

Last time we said a lot of goodbyes. We are officially rid of Generation 3 and the Generation 4 spares from the household have all moved out. It’s like a nice clean slate. Right now in the house we have Sebastian and Yadira (Generation 4) who are parents to Ramona, Kendrick, Penelope, and baby twins Vanessa and Loretta.

I’m beginning to understand why I took a step back from this legacy – look at all these kids! And with such a short age gap between them this would have been difficult, no doubt. As far as I can remember all of the kids were raised nicely (their skills etc are coming up a bit later)

Sebastian maxed Rocket Science skill and the Dancing skill.

Here is where I installed City Living so now have added tasks in categories like careers, skills, aspirations and death. After a little exploring of the new EP and freaking out over all the extra things I have to do for more points, it was time to get back to raising the children.

I’ve come to terms that I won’t get that perfect 100 score. I’ll still be scoring but maybe I’ll have more fun instead of trying to achieve weird little goals that I don’t like to play all that much.

Generation Five were firm friends but a handful. A live in nanny was hired but never seemed to want to go home. It confirmed he had no life outside of his job but at lease the children benefited. 

The children managed to accomplish a many great things, but point worthy for the legacy:

• Penelope maxed Potty + Movement
• Ramona maxed Motor skill and completed Rambunctious Scamp aspiration
• Loretta maxed Movement
• Vanessa maxed Communication

Yadira threw a variety of parties still trying to complete her Party Animal aspiration:
Dinner: Gold x1, Silver x2
Birthday: Silver x1

Thanks to the City Living EP and a festival we managed to completed the snow globe collection!

The children grew, Ramona – the oldest – was now a teen wanting to venture out into the cities. The expectations of her from the legacy were smothering. 

The house was highly glitched. The music was non-stop build mode music despite not being in build mode and the kids were supposedly at school according the the bottom of the screen though they were at home. I thought that it would right itself if I exited and came back in or waited for the next school day – it didn’t. So the family had to move. It seems about the right time though, Generation 4/5 is normally where everything starts to take a turn.

Hopefully all of the items make it through the move, if not I must note that we do have all the paintings of previous generations and 71 Young Again potions. The family household value and funds on hand came to a whopping total of $520,114 exactly.

Attempts were made but things didn’t look good.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t move in that save file as they were all glitched so I uploaded them to the gallery and they have to start again. I’m starting to realise what might have made me stop playing back in April/May. It’s fine. I feel like we were doing well with points so this is just an extra hurdle to cvercome. There is good news and bad news:

Good News

• They still have the skills they were working on / maxed
• Their jobs and school grades are the same! (meaning Sebastian is a Moon Mercenary, level 8, and Yadira a Professional Bodybuilder, level 6 so that’s good news!)
• I like it when things are hard in terms of money so my interest is back in this.

Bad News

• They lost all the money and household value (We’re going to minus the $32, 000 they started with here from $520,114 and just continue on. We’ll add any value and cash on hand to $488,114)
• What they had been collected has been completely wiped though we have evidence of the three collections they completed so we can just work around that.
• They lost graves, paintings and all of that too. Even Sebastian’s siblings and friends have gone (and he was so close to getting the 20 he needed for his Friend of the World aspiration)

But we shall continue on! I still have that file so I can always reference back to it when it comes to points etc but for the most part we’ll be starting from scratch. This seems like a natural stopping point for this part as well, so next time we’ll watch these babies rise from the ashes.

 

The Munch Legacy 4.2

Last time Sebastian and Yadira got married! Although Violet is desperate to have 4 grandchildren for her aspiration, we’re holding off on kids to focus on careers and letting Sebastian’s youngest siblings grow up some more – Clementine is a teenager and Oberon is still only just a child.

But maybe the aliens had different plans?

Voices haunted Sebastian “Another part alien part human subject. This one also originates from file name: Karter”

“Karter? Who deserted?”

“The very same” A pause, “I think we need to get a handle on this. We need more information”

With these alien abductions, the game is begging me for that alien sub plot. So yeah, maybe I will because I won’t ever say no to more alien genes in this family tree. It won’t happen immediately, so just remember this.

On a lighter note, Seb and Yadira had some dates: Gold x4, Silver x1

Clementine was promoted to Latte Artiste, the top of the teen barista career

Sebastian completed his second love aspiration. Switched to Leader of the Pack. Soon enough, Sebastian completed Leader of the Pack, and he switched to Friend of the world.
Trying to get back in to the swing of Yadira’s Party Animal aspiration, a couple of parties were thrown: Silver house party x2

Yadira hadn’t realised the responsibilities attached to the legacy. Sebastian wanted three kids, and at the rate they were going there was barely an age gap between them at all. 

This is the first daughter of Generation Five: Ramona. Very soon after, Yadira was pregnant again and Kendrick was born followed by a third pregnancy and baby Penelope.

As the house filled, tempers flared and Oberon’s was worst of all. He’d been overlooked ever since he was born and now there was a new generation taking it away from him again. He blamed one person for all of this. 

“I’m Yadira and I think I’m so great”

“Grow up, Oberon!”

Oberon was one to start fights, but Grim finished them. Oberon’s Hot-Headed trait bubbled in his blood and one day, Yadira declared him her worst enemy. It pushed him over the edge. 

Oberon died of Cardiac Explosion / Enraged. I’ve never had this happen before. And, as Yadira is evil and Oberon’s enemy – she cheered his death. Another first for me. At least it clears the house of Generation 4 a little quicker.

It was finally Clementine’s time to leave home. She’d had a crazy childhood in this house, however every happy memory was tinged with sadness now. Not only was this a house that held so many heartwarming memories but it was also the place where her father died, and her younger brother. Two people she should have spent more time with.

Clementine moved out. Part of me would have adored to have her as heir. I have no idea where she got those dazzling green eyes from.

Violet is still around too by the way. Now an elder but she reached Cooking Level 10 and finally topped the Comedian branch of the Entertainer career.

Yadira was beginning to forget what it was like to NOT be pregnant. In such a short space of time she’d mothered five children with Sebastian and even though she’d never seen herself as a mother, she was enjoying this new role. 

Twin girls Vanessa and Loretta were born! So I only really wanted Seb and Yadira to have four kids and would have given anything for that last birth to be twins but there you go. Five kids for Generation Five sounds pretty good to me.

Violet lay peacefully on the floor. No bargaining was needed, she had accomplished everything she had wanted in life and more. Her final day was perfect because she got to see the birth of her fourth and fifth grandchild. 

Violet died, but for once I wasn’t even mad. She completed the Big Happy Family aspiration on the birth of the twins, and switched to Successful Lineage which she didn’t have time to complete. AND she maxed Charisma.

That’s all I was nervous about. That she’d die before maxing the Charisma skill or before the final grandchild was born. Violet has literally been the most perfect spouse.

Furthermore…

Over the past few generations a lot of my sims have gotten bigger because of all the meals cooked (especially Rudyard’s handiwork) so I’m counting this for the point about have a sim get fat from family’s cooking. Loads of them have, but here’s evidence of Violet after a couple of weeks in game and a few pregnancies (first picture) compared to her on her deathbed and birth of her final grandkids (second picture).

We’ll finish this part here, but for the record we have 68 Youth Potions in the basement and the house and on hand cash comes to the value of approximately: $475,000! Next time you see these Youth Potions it’ll be because I’ve completed the collection of 80 – mark my words.

Courtmoor BACC | Winter 4 | Dives

Columbus is technically head of the house as oldest. He lives here with wife Lucy and youngest daughter, and heir, Kendra. His other daughter Gertrude is off at university.

Columbus did a quick visit around all of their business to get the rank and to get their worth so we can figure out their taxes.

That plus their home worth makes a whopping total of $333K so the family pay $33,300 in taxes at the start of the week.

Then I realised they can do this on the computer? Noice. I’ve been spending ages visiting all the businesses!

Kendra grew up to an adult! She maxed the Charisma and Logic skill opening up some careers for Courtmoor. She also snatched her self a job in Law Enforcement.

Lucy reached the top of the Military career as General. You know, I’ve got the feeling her LTW switched because I thought that’s what she wanted but no permaplat. Still an achievement nonetheless and it opens a career in the Intelligence career.
